Naturopathic Services

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I know how important it is to eat well, exercise regularly, and manage stress in order for you to feel your best. As a working mom to 4 little monkeys, I also know how challenging it can be to fit these things into my busy life. My passion is to sift through all of the information that is out there, and teach you the most effective, time efficient, evidence based ways to incorporate these important aspects into your life.

The goal of naturopathic medicine is to enhance health, prevent illness and treat disease using natural therapies which support the body’s innate ability to heal. Naturopathic treatments can complement conventional medicine or sometimes be used on their own. The result is a safe, effective, and individualized approach which can help a wide variety of health concerns.

Some of the more common conditions treated include:

  • women’s health issues (menopausal symptoms, PMS & menstrual disorders, infertility, and breast health)

  • chronic headaches

  • digestive disorders

  • asthma

  • chronic allergies

  • arthritis

  • high blood pressure

  • thyroid disorders

I believe there is great value in doing appropriate lab testing in order to determine the underlying causes of your health issues so that the optimal treatment plan can be created for you. For example, a full thyroid blood panel (TSH, T3, rT3, T4 and anti TPO) can give a lot more information than just the commonly tested TSH alone. The urine DUTCH hormone panel gives a lot more detail about what’s functionally happening with your hormones than testing hormones in the blood.

After completing a thorough one hour initial phone consult,

reviewing the information on your detailed intake form, and discussing what lab testing may be helpful, I will formulate an individualized treatment plan for you.

I do not believe it is necessary to use lots of supplements, but it can be very helpful to use the right doses of the right supplements. I frequently use botanical medicines (herbs), specific vitamins and minerals, and clinical nutrition as part of my recommendations.
