This is the secret to success — in workouts and in life

A friend shared a reel with me recently because it fit so well with my message.  The gist was, “Some workouts are just going to suck.”
And honestly, that really is the secret to success, in workouts and in life.

You can watch the reel here(fair warning: the language is a little spicier than I’d normally use, but the message is gold.)

Not every workout feels great. Not every meal you cook will be perfect. Some days you won’t reach your water goal or get all your steps in. But there’s incredible value in showing up anyway.

That’s been a theme I’ve talked about a lot lately — how the simple act of showing up for yourself builds momentum. Whether it’s in exercise, nutrition, or any other area of your life, consistency — especially when it’s inconvenient or imperfect — is what creates lasting change.

When I first started working out more regularly, my energy wasn’t anywhere near optimal. My husband used to comment on how grumpy I was on HIIT days (in hindsight, probably not my best choice of workout for that time in my life!).

But I have no regrets. Even if those workouts weren’t ideal, they got me started.

And starting — imperfectly — is everything.

Once I began to move my body more regularly, other positive shifts followed:

I started taking my supplements more consistently.

I went to bed earlier so I could wake up for my workouts.

That meant fewer late nights working or watching Netflix.

Each small, intentional choice made the next one easier.

The truth is, transformation doesn’t happen all at once — it’s a process.

You don’t have to wait until you’re perfectly ready. You just have to start.

And that’s exactly what I help my patients do — figure out where they are now, where they want to be, and create a realistic plan to get there, with support and accountability along the way.

If you’re ready to start taking small, consistent steps toward feeling your best, don’t wait until January.

I still have some spots open for virtual Naturopathic consults in November — let’s start now!
