I realized I haven’t been clear about something important…

A little behind-the-scenes peek at what my work looks like these days…

This week someone said something that really took me by surprise.

They thought I was no longer practicing as a Naturopathic Doctor and only doing FASTer Way coaching now.

And honestly… it reminded me that even though I live this work every day, not everyone sees the full picture of what I do. :)

It made me realize that sharing what my work actually looks like — and how these pieces fit together — is the perfect conversation to have with you this week.

First up: Yes, I’m very much still in naturopathic practice.

Back in 2020, after hitting a pretty intense wall of burnout, I made the difficult decision to sell my multidisciplinary clinic. There are parts of that life I still miss, but in my heart, I know it was the decision that gave me my health back and opened the door to work that feels more aligned, more flexible, and more enjoyable.

But selling the clinic didn’t mean stepping away from naturopathic medicine.

Since then, I’ve been practicing virtually — supporting women as they transition to and through menopause and beyond, helping them feel energized, stronger, healthier… and more like themselves again. My license is fully active, I can still order labs, and visits are covered by insurance just like in-person sessions.

And truly, virtual care has been such a gift - for both me and my patients. No weather delays, no sick kids requiring rescheduling, no driving and you can join from the comfort of your own home or even at work. It makes it so much easier to meet consistently, which is such an important part of helping women make real progress.

Where FASTer Way fits into all of this

FASTer Way is the fitness-and-nutrition program I coach, and it complements my naturopathic work beautifully.

Back in March 2018, I tried FASTer Way as a client because I needed help getting consistent with my workouts again. And like so many women I now coach, I was shocked to discover how much more I needed to eat to give my body what it needs to thrive — even though I thought I was doing “pretty well.”

This approach gave me a simple, sustainable way to build the habits I had been talking about for years: strength training, balanced nutrition, and actually giving your body enough to work with.

It’s one thing to know what would be beneficial to do… and another thing entirely to have a system that truly supports you in doing it.

A few months later, when the opportunity came up, I became a FASTer Way coach. And it has been one of the most enjoyable parts of my work — helping women implement these principles in a real-life, doable way and celebrating all the shifts that follow.

How the two sides of my work support each other

Here’s the simplest way to think about it:

FASTer Way = foundational habits

Strength training, balanced nutrition, hydration, consistency.

Naturopathic care = individualized plan

Blood work, symptom assessment, optimizing systems (digestion, detoxification, hormones, etc.), supplements, and a personalized protocol.

The two pieces fit together so naturally.

Many of my naturopathic patients choose to do FASTer Way because those foundational habits make everything else we do more effective — and help them feel better, faster.

And many women start with FASTer Way and later work with me naturopathically when they’re ready for deeper, personalized support.

Seeing how beautifully these pieces blend has been one of the most meaningful changes in “version 2.0” of my practice since 2020.

And yes — my naturopathic virtual doors are open

I am accepting new patients and continue to work one-on-one with women who want individualized care, targeted lab work, and a plan tailored to their symptoms, their history, and their goals.

And I’ll be honest:

I genuinely love when my naturopathic patients also do the FASTer Way program.  The truth is, so many women think they’re eating well or doing the “right” workouts — and I felt that way myself before trying the FASTer Way approach — but once they experience what optimal fuelling and intentional strength training is like, everything changes.  Even if you’re already exercising or feel your nutrition is “pretty good”, this is different from anything you’ve tried before.

The way the FASTer Way pieces work together is a genuine game changer. Most women don’t see how much better they can feel until they give it a chance.

It’s the most effective system I’ve found for helping women build strong, sustainable lifestyle foundations — the kind that make every other part of their health journey work better. Even the first three weeks often give women a glimpse of what’s possible: more energy, steadier mood, better strength, clearer thinking, and a body that feels more supported.

When those pieces are in place, the individualized naturopathic work we do together becomes even more powerful.
